Safety Guidelines
Your safety is our priority at TiKi Water Bikes. Water biking is designed to be a fun, stable, and enjoyable outdoor activity, but all guests must follow the safety instructions provided by our team.
These guidelines explain how to prepare for your ride, use the equipment responsibly, and enjoy a safer experience on the water.
Before Your Ride
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled booking time. This allows enough time for:
Check-in
Life-jacket fitting
Equipment preparation
Safety instructions
Questions before entering the water
Guests who arrive late may have a shorter riding period so that other scheduled bookings are not affected.
Safety Briefing
All participants must attend the safety briefing before beginning their ride.
During the briefing, the TiKi Water Bikes team may explain:
How to board and exit the water bike
How to pedal, steer, slow down, and stop
The designated riding area
How to maintain a safe distance from other water users
What to do if weather or water conditions change
How to contact or signal staff for assistance
When to return to shore
Guests must follow all instructions provided by TiKi Water Bikes staff.
Life Jackets
A properly fitted life jacket must be worn at all times while participating in a water bike activity.
Life jackets must remain fastened and must not be removed while the guest is on the water.
Guests should inform a staff member immediately if a life jacket feels uncomfortable, damaged, or incorrectly fitted.
Health and Participation
Each guest is responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically able to participate safely.
Please notify our team before your ride if you have:
A recent injury
A medical condition
Limited mobility
Balance concerns
A heart or respiratory condition
Any other condition that may affect safe participation
Pregnant guests and individuals with medical concerns should consult a healthcare professional before participating.
TiKi Water Bikes may refuse participation when a guest’s condition could create a safety risk for themselves or others.
Alcohol, Cannabis, Drugs, and Impairment
Guests must not participate while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, medication, or any substance that may affect judgment, coordination, balance, or reaction time.
TiKi Water Bikes may refuse or end participation without a refund when a guest appears impaired or unable to operate the equipment safely.
Weather and Water Conditions
Water biking is an outdoor activity, and conditions may change quickly.
TiKi Water Bikes may delay, shorten, reschedule, or cancel a ride because of:
Strong winds
Storms or lightning
Unsafe waves or water conditions
Poor visibility
Smoke or reduced air quality
Extreme temperatures
Equipment concerns
Other safety-related conditions
Light wind, clouds, cooler temperatures, or light rain do not automatically mean that a ride will be cancelled.
The TiKi Water Bikes team makes the final decision regarding safe operating conditions.
Staying Within the Designated Area
Guests must remain within the designated operating area explained during the safety briefing.
Do not travel beyond marked boundaries or enter restricted areas.
Guests must return to shore immediately when instructed by TiKi Water Bikes staff.
Safe Operation
While operating a water bike, guests must:
Remain seated unless instructed otherwise
Keep hands, feet, clothing, and personal items away from moving parts

Pay attention to swimmers, paddlers, boats, docks, wildlife, and obstacles
Avoid sudden turns or reckless movements
Follow all posted signs and local water rules
Operate the equipment only for its intended purpose
Racing, pushing, standing, jumping, horseplay, and deliberately colliding with another water bike are not permitted.

We recommend leaving valuable items on shore or protecting them in an appropriate waterproof container.
TiKi Water Bikes is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or water-damaged personal property.
Equipment Inspection and Damage
Before leaving shore, guests should inspect their water bike and report any visible damage or concern to a staff member.
Do not use equipment that appears damaged or does not operate correctly.
Guests must not modify, misuse, abandon, or intentionally damage any TiKi Water Bikes equipment.
The person responsible for the booking may be charged for damage or loss caused by misuse, negligence, reckless behaviour, or failure to follow instructions. Normal wear and tear will not be charged.

Remain calm.
Stay with the water bike.
Keep your life jacket fastened.
Signal or contact TiKi Water Bikes staff.

Participation is not permitted when the required waiver has not been completed.
Safety Is a Shared Responsibility
Our team works to prepare, inspect, and operate equipment responsibly. Guests also play an important role by listening carefully, following instructions, remaining aware of their surroundings, and using good judgment.
